Superb book, “Le Pari De L’Impossible” [Betting on the Impossible]
From fighter pilot to the Patrouille de France, discover a human adventure. By Romain Béthhoux, in collaboration with Frédéric Lert
Romain Béthoux was second and then leader of the PAF from 2014 to 2015. This was the result of years of effort and hard work to first join the Air Force Academy, then gain his fighter wings and finally succeed in a first career on Mirage F1 with several combat missions during various external operations. His selection to join the prestigious patrol opened up the door to an unforeseeable adventure that he shares at length over the following pages. For the first time, the reader can go on-board with a leader in the cockpit of a red white and blue Alphajet. Go with him as he sweats underneath his helmet, draws his trajectories with a chalk line and discovers on two wings what really goes on behind the scenes of the Air Force and its thrilling ambassador, the PAF!
This book is the story of an adventure within an institution that remains deeply human, with all its strengths and weaknesses, its joys and its hardships. It is also about plunging deep into the daily workings of a Grand Dame, the Patrouille de France, who remains a secret despite her 65 years of existence.

"What an interesting book! To tell the story of a fighter pilot's adventure with such humanity is a rare thing, but Romain Béthoux did it. And did it perfectly. "Aerobuzz
